Art Room Expectations and Procedures
1. Be on time! After three tardies, students will be referred to the office for lunch detention.
2. Enter the room ready to work.
· Have and manage materials you will need in class.
· Write the daily assignments in your planner at the beginning of the week
· If you do not put your name on an assignment, it will not be graded, but put in the no name box.
· If a project is left on your project shelf and not turned in to the correct spot, it will not be graded.
3. Participate in discussions.
· Raise your hand and wait to be recognized—don’t call out comments or answers.
· Listen respectfully to your peers and your teacher.
· Use positive and constructive language when critiquing your own work or your peers.
4. Make up work in timely manner.
· You are responsible for finding out about any lessons or tests you miss due to absence or tardiness.
· You may receive full credit for work you miss if your absence is excused; however, it must be turned in within three (3) days of your return to school. Work that is turned in past the deadline for any other reason (unexcused absence, tardiness, laziness, etc.) is considered late and will be given only partial credit. Tests may be made up only if an absence is excused.
5. You may finish with your project before others, if this should happen you may choose something from the "I'm Done what Now" Binder or wall.
6. Leave the classroom neat and complete your art job according to art jobs rubric.
· A specific table will be assigned with distributing supplies and with the task of cleaning supplies and tables. However, you will need to ensure your space is tidy.
7. You may move around the room only once directed by me to throw away trash, or return items to your project shelf.
8. Return to your seat and sit quietly until dismissed by me or the art jobs clean-up crew.
